Duncan James has claimed that Blue will not be having threesomes on their reunion tour.

The pop singer and West End star said that the band are more “mature” then when they were first touring, claiming that they will be less outrageous on the road.

When asked about bandmate Lee Ryan’s recent revelations about the group enjoying threesomes with fans, James, said: “Lee always speaks out. You never know what’s going to come out of his mouth. It was quoted before and it wasn’t anything new. He just wanted to bring it back up again now.

“I called him and said, ‘Lee!’, and he said, ‘I’m sorry brother, the record company told me to spice up the interview!’. And I said, ‘that’s great, but why bring me into it!’ High fiving with the spit… oh God Lee!”

Speaking about the possibility of recreating the sex act, he said: “Probably not, no. No. I’d like to think we’re a little bit more mature now. I’d like to think we have grown up a bit and won’t be doing that… so much.”

He added: “But I am quite excited about getting back together with the lads, going around causing mischief. All the red tops will be loving that we are getting back, because last time with Blue there were stories every day about something. Whether it was Lee shagging an alien, or whatever. It does make you think, what’s going to happen this time around?!”

James is a judge on new reality series Don’t Stop Believing, which starts on Sunday at 7pm on Five.

Duncan James wants to tour with Blue so he can meet more men. The hunky singer, who admitted his bisexuality in a newspaper interview last year, can’t wait to receive admiration from both male and female admirers when he plays his first concerts since revealing his sexuality.

When asked if he was excited about receiving female attention when the boy band return later this year, Duncan laughed and said, “And male attention please!”

The singer believes he will enjoy performing with Blue, also comprising Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Antony Costa, even more now he is open about his sexuality. He said, “For me after coming out in the press last year I’ve got a weight off my shoulders and I’m going to enjoy coming back in to Blue. I won’t be worrying about stuff, I’ll be comfortable in my own skin”.

Duncan, who has a five-year-old daughter Tianie-Finn from a previous relationship, is currently single but thinks his work makes it difficult to find love. He explained to BANG Showbiz, “I am single at the moment. It’s really hard to meet people in this business. Your schedule is different, you’re working different hours so you can’t just go out on a Saturday or Sunday night and meet people.”

…But on the upside for extra-terrestrial life forms, you may be getting a length from Lee instead.

Speaking to someone somewhere about the possibility that Blue may bringing back group sex as well as the group, Dunc teased (but not until we lose control… hang on, that was Chaka Demus & Pliers):

“I’d like to think we’re a little bit more mature now. I’d like to think we have grown up a bit and won’t be doing that… so much.”

Oh ho ho ho! It wasn’t the gags that got the girls into increasingly variable positions of penetration back in the old days, was it Dunc?

He added: “But I am quite excited about getting back together with the lads, going around causing mischief.

“All the red tops will be loving that we are getting back, because last time with Blue there were stories every day about something.

“Whether it was Lee shagging an alien, or whatever. It does make you think, what’s going to happen this time around?!”

You hope they’ll be stories every day… There’s other boy bands around these days, mate – younger boy bands, fitter boy bands. And there’s JLS, too.

Here’s hoping you get all the exposure you want to… Otherwise Lee may need a bit more protection than a Johnny if he’s reduced to banging a Dalek.

Duncan James has joked that touring with Lee Ryan is “very much an experience”.

The boyband star claimed that his last jaunt with Blue involved a lot of “craziness” and “fire extinguishers”.

Speaking at the launch of new reality show Don’t Stop Believing, James said: “Hanging around with Lee Ryan on tour is very much an experience. I remember stories last time around that I am not actually going to repeat on Digital Spy because they would shock a lot of people.

“There was a lot of craziness and fire extinguishers being let off for some unknown reason. Lee would like going around squirting people with fire extinguishers. One night in Newcastle, Alan Shearer and all the Newcastle football players were in the hotel and Lee came down, running in with a fire extinguisher and soaked everyone including Alan Shearer.

“The last thing I remember is the security running after Lee down the corridor. Funnily enough we were told we couldn’t go back to that hotel again.”

Don’t Stop Believing starts on Sunday at 7pm on Five.

Duncan James has said that he wants Blue to rival JLS and That That when they return in 2011.

The boyband star claimed that the ‘All Rise’ group will need to update their sound when they head into the recording studio later this year.

“I think that we will have to come back different. Blue did our stuff more than five years ago,” he told DS. “We’ve got to come back with a different sound. JLS are our there now, Take That are doing their thing, we’ve got to compete with these groups.

“We’ve been out of the game for a long while now. But that’s exciting – we want to have another crack at it. It’s going to be tough, but we’ve had long enough off, so we should get cracking.”

James will appear as a judge on new Five reality show Don’t Stop Believing, which launches on Sunday at 7pm.

Speaking about the project, he said: “It’s going to be a big emotional rollercoaster, there can only be one winner and we’re going to watch these groups. But it’s going to be great fun. I know that Five are going all out on this, I think it’s the biggest show the channel has ever done, so it’s really exciting to be part of it.”

He added: “It will be nervewracking for the 30 acts coming out and doing that. I mean, I remember doing showcases with Blue and I would be running to the toilet all the time with sweaty palms and nerves.

“But I think the interesting thing about this show is that they are all groups, so they can rely on each other. I will be watching how they interact and support each other on stage. It’s not all about being the best singer and dancer, it’s about how they work together and blend together.”

Duncan James has claimed that it is hard starting a romantic relationship while working in showbusiness.

The Blue popstar, who will appear as a judge on Five reality show Don’t Stop Believing, also admitted that he sometimes finds it lonely working in the West End and on TV shows.

“It is hard to meet people in this business. Your schedules are quite different. It’s not like you go out on a Saturday night and meet people,” he told DS. “It is quite difficult. But I’m okay at being on my own. I was an only child and I’m quite used to it.

“I’m just lucky that I’ve got great friends around me, my daughter and my family. But It can get quite lonely this business, when you are living out of a suitcase a lot and travelling.”

James revealed in an interview last year that he is bisexual and that he had been involved in “loving relationships” with men.

He added: “I’m currently single. Coming out of a West End show like Legally Blonde, you have no life. You are 24/7 on that musical. I’ve just come out, been on holiday with my little girl and now going on this show. It’s been non-stop.

“I guess I’m lucky, because I’m not someone who is great at twiddling their thumbs. I need to be busy, because otherwise I’ll just sit at home eating! I’m one of those people who keeps going back to the fridge expecting something to magically appear when I’m bored.”

Don’t Stop Believing starts on Sunday at 7pm on Five.

Duncan James has insisted that Blue will not be making a comeback performance on Don’t Stop Believing.

The boyband star, who is a judge on the new Five reality show, said that the group are currently in negotiations with their record company so they will be unable to appear together.

“They asked us to come on and do the show with Blue. But we are still in negotiations with our record company,” James explained at the programme’s launch yesterday.

Speaking about the current status of the band, he added: “We’re currently in talks with EMI because we’re still signed with them. Even if we wanted to go to another label, we couldn’t. So EMI have the option to pick us up right now and they seem really excited about what we’re doing right now.

“The plan is to go to LA to record it in September. A new single to come out next year, with an album and tour.”

The four-piece, who consist of James, Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Anthony Costa, reunited last year for the Capital Summertime Ball.

Don’t Stop Believing starts on Sunday at 7pm on Five.
